What would you recommend for replacement temp. gauge on a 1953 ford v/8 flathead?

If you are going to 12v any good brand will do. None will fit in the original location. The flathead cooling system is actually 2 separate systems as the only place the coolant from the 2 sides of the block mixes is in the radiator. I run 2 mechanical gauges mounted under the dash. You can do that with electric gauges or run 1 on a toggle switch and switch back and forth between the 2 banks. Don't be surprised if the p***enger side runs a little warmer than the driver side. They all seem to do that. Something to do with the coolant p***ages on the p***enger side, I think.

In a T that I had with a later flathead, I ran one gauge with a toggle switch like mentioned above. Worked very well.
