First and probably only only build of mine. My father found this model A sedan for me almost 20 years ago and I'm finally in a place to build it.

    I also got a 53 flathead and a t5 for it.

Looking for garnish moldings and wood if anyone has leads.

Mikes model a in Denver is the best. I'll call them Tuesday. But if anyone has any parts out there on the east coast. Let me know.

paint those trusty rusties red and white in quadrants like old dragsters did, so they could see if they got the front wheel off the tar... like the rear wheels on my avitar

I'm cutting off the mustang ii front end for sure. The frame hasn't been lengthened.

Just my two cents . That looks to be a nice old sedan. Hopefully your plans revolve around a nice high boy with a mild 2-4 inch chop if any and not chopping, channeling and sectioning it into the ground and into uselessness. I know of too many cars that the owners went the more is kooler route and after awhile they got tired of having to crawl in and out, zero visability and total discomfort. Now they either sit ,are for sale or sold to someone else who looses interest quite quickly . Again just my 2 cents. Good luck and have fun. Larry

I live right down the road in Chelsea, my woodshop is in Malden. I go to Somerville all the time to buy plywood and tacos.

Looks like a nice solid body to start with, love the flathead too. I want to build an A Sedan as well, (room for the wife and kids). I'll be watching your build.

I'm not going to chop or channel it. I don't know what's wrong with what Henry did so why change it. So I just want a flathead. A 5 speed. And it all in black. Why fix what wasn't broke? I know it's not a coupe or a roadster. But it's what I have and I dig it.

  12. Looks like you have a good start there. I like your plans so far. And One Bad 51 Merc says it best - avoid the "more is kooler" school with the idiotic excess - save that for the RR stooges......................

Looks like a great start and I like them as Henry intended, too, though I'm not adverse to some spring tweaks to lower them a little.

Sorry, I've been installing a Dodge club cab roof skin onto my '30 A body today...
didn't think to mention the Volvo wagon post was for a roof insert on a buddy's '30 tudor body... thought it might help if you go that route...

back to the build - ya doing good

  18. Had a '29 coupe back in the day, but if I was starting over today, a tudor would be my first choice. Gotta have room for family and friends. And I agree with so many that Henry had the height right - no choppin'. You'd be amazed how handy all that headroom is when you're older. Glad you're going with a flattie and T5. Good gears with OD shouldn't be sacrilege. Build it, then drive the snot out of it!

if you are going to fill the roof, the Volvo wagon without sun roof fits well... don't cut the rear donar roof section too short...
stopped at a buddy's shop... had my camera... Volvo wagon roof onto a '30 sedan pix... DSCN0816.JPG

reflection of the strapping makes to roof look ribbed... it is not.
