For anyone interested in buying the car here is a link to the ad. The sellers name is Jack. Easier to reach him at the second number listed.

Tell him you met John from Quebec on a forum.

Positive Update: I bought this from a farmer yesterday.

I guess a little bit of a unusual bird for the US folks. It is a 1956 Dodge Regent 2 Door Hardtop. Plodge extraordinaire. Outside and underneath in excellent condition. The nice condition of the underside was a pleasant surprise. Engine bay needs cleaning up. Only engine choice for 56 Canadian Hardtops was the flat 6. I ***ume this is a 251(?). Single brake cylinders make me nervous! I think Dodge switch to 12v in 1956 but I can't see the generator tag well enough to be sure.

Anyway, I will start a new thread when the cars arrives in about 2 weeks.

    I'm thinking 392 sleeper...........

1st a 38 Plymouth is one of my favorite cars. There are Dodge And Desoto hemis that are smaller with the look that preform well.

I found a 331 near me but has been sitting for 20 years. What are the smaller ones 331 and 315?

A 331 is a low deck Chrysler slightly smaller than the 392 the 315 is Dodge is 27" wide about 3" smaller than the 392 and with a chevy water pump and aluminum intake can get under 600 lbs.

The "smaller" Chryslers are 331 & 354, DeSotos are physically smaller, and the Dodges are the smallest in over all size. Put "hemi tech Index" in search & start reading.

IF I lived close by, I WOULD Too! Theres no reason that plymouth can't have and nicely fit that Hemi..... I'd bulge out the frame if I HAD too just to get it in there neatly!!!!! LOL Sadly, however I don't think I live anywhere close to him to help him!

sbc? Small Block Chevy I take it thats what that stands for? (Sorry I'm a Mopar guy through and through......) AHHHH that be a SIN, you could at least get a Chrysler LA- 318 in there if you can put a Chevy small block in it.............. Hell, even a 318 Magnum would fit too!

IMG_20161211_081440677.jpg IMG_20170610_120359306.jpg This is my start to a 392 into a 39 Plymouth Coupe. I'm going with a A500 or A518 Chrysler overdrive transmission. I would like to use the small A500 because it has a lower 1st gear. A friend of mine has a 36 Plymouth Coupe with a 354 hooked to a turbo 350 he only runs the top of his hood but I think the side panels will fit.

    Hello Mr. kmrumedy
Sorry that the deal fell through on the coupe. That car had a warp ch***is, a bad rear end, and the body needed a new floor. I bough the car that's how i know, last winter I built a new ch***is with a 383 mopar and a A833 four speed transmission.
