    My dad, who was in the 101st, jumped that day. Since 13 was his lucky number he announced on the plane that he wanted to be #13 to jump...... he was a hero right then and there !

    My Uncle John (Father's Brother) was killed in Italy outside of Rome on 6/6/44--part of the "other" invasion into Europe.

    Thanks, Dave. My father wore 173rd Airborne (is now buried at Arlington), and I wore the Screaming Eagle.

    My grandfather's cousin was with the British ox and bucks who captured Pegasus Bridge by glider and waited for the Americans to relieve them. One of their lieutenants is believed to be the first man killed on June 6th. We are all beneficiaries of a true world wide team effort
