Just remember the louvers turn the cowl vent into a heater when your driving below 35 mph ! For what ever reason the heat doesn't seem to come in the windshield when it's open .
Got a couple for you. One is a pattern that I kinda punched under protest. It has some splayed lines to work with the shape of the hood, but the owner wouldn't let me orient the vents to the back edge of the hood as I normally would do. Looks okay, (much better than straight rows 90 degrees to the centerline!) but not what it could be. Terrible picture too, but I'll find a finished picture of this hood in my stuff and post it. Now, this is a '36 hood, but this is the pattern that I more commonly put into a '34 type hood. I love to tip the louvers so that they follow the same shape as the back edge of the hood they go into. That way they look like they belong instead of something added later. I accompany that with a splay or ray effect on EVERY tapered hood I do. This is an example of my 2 1/2" louvers, whereas the above are my 3 1/2" holes. Okay, again, the last one isn't a '34, but a '37 pickup for JEEM, and I include it for simple over the top amounts of louvers done correctly. Funny, I have done lots of '33-'34 hoods for guys, (including a couple of A.M.B.R. contenders) but I can't quickly find a picture in my "go to" file for louver stuff. A little later today I'll dig in my other stuff and see what I can find for you.
Duck: Man I'd love to see more pics of your coupe. If your up to it, I know its a lot of work. Maybe e-mail if its easier? Tim
Now that is a super looking 33 coupe. What a nice chop job as well as overall theme of the build. Congratulations!
Need Louvers !! nice work, all hoods look really nice. There is nobody in South Africa that does work like you guys. , Iam wondering if anyone has a decent original 34 Ford louvered hood, only the top, for sale. Iam looking for one i can use on my 34 Coupe in Cape Town ! Regards
