  7. I'd probably be sick to my stomach to hear how much they pay in CA for what I do here for peanuts. I know the cost of living is higher, but...

I have a degree in GD, know all those programs well (Kindy rusty on Quark, I like Indesign), have about 3 years experience, although Salinas to Pleasenton would be a long daily-trip, and I've been pretty busy lately too...hmmm

    I just might apply...

amen,,, only thing i learned in art school is that most fashion majors are guys, interior design isnt just for homos and generaly, art teachers are people who cant hack real production.

i did make some killer connections though :)

There is one BAD thing though...I'll be your boss.

As for school, I could care less what piece of paper you have. Good designers are not made, they are born. The design eye is just as important as the ability to work the computer.

I am a firm believer in education. That said, style and creativity can not be taught in any university. And never, ever, ever mistake a filter for an idea.

Best of luck with your hunt.

and Juan............I think you would be a fantastic addition.

Cool! When is the cut off date? I want to apply, but need to get together some pdfs of work I've done. I went to school for graphic design and have 4 years experience. I am familiar with the area too...I used to live in Benicia.

yea, nobody in design cares anything about education. I've got that piece of paper and the only thing it got me was people wanting me to do professional work for minimum wage. Experience is everything.

By the way this sounds like a heck of an oppertunity. It's hard to get a good oppertunity in graphic design, especially one in the automotive industry.

Slightly O/T but I might as well mention it here. I just got the Nostalgia Drags flyer, great graphics! I like it when that subtle connection is made by using nostalgic style graphics for a Nostalgia event.

  24. I do graphic design but am still in college as well.. mine leans more towards web development and design. I love graphic design but also like putting together a website. Also know a wide range of PHP, MySQL etc.. I just mix everything in lol .. my newest fetish is doing a site in CSS only, now that I know it I disable CSS styles on every site i go to to see if they coded it all in CSS.

Good luck to everyone on this, hope you find the right person as well!! anyone needs some web development help.. email me info@alienworx.com

10 years ago I DREAMED of a SoCal car related design dream job.

I am pretty entrenched into Chicago now though, no matter how much I DESPISE the winters.
