As many of you know Danny (Hotrodprimer) and I traded cars a couple months back. He was looking for something that was more or less ready to drive and I had been keeping an eye on his Red Streetrod car because with the young kids in our family and the heat in TX, a car with A/C would work good for us. So, we struck a deal and he got the primer Fordor I put together and I am the new owner of the red car.
Just call me StreetRod Ron now! This car is everything I said I didn't want when I joined the H.A.M.B. almost 10 years ago. But, I'm a little older and a whole lot less critical then I was back then. I've got a long term plan to de-billet the car and start over with it but for now we're just gonna burn gas. Spent the last couple months fixing a bunch of little stuff but it cleaned up good and now that I'm dialing it in, drives great.
Looks like it did the first time I saw the car,I can tell you spent a lot of time detailing the car,it was always a good driver. I'll bet your son is liking it!~ HRP
Thanks buddy. We really like the car. The new carpet and a little respray on the front end pieces helped it a bunch. I also raised the front end up a half inch because it would barely make it up the ramp to my shop. Still chasing down a couple small things of course but it's almost done. I'm thinking of taking it on Saturday morning to Houston a couple hours away with my son to see my mom & dad. My son AJ and my nephew JV are both excited about it.
We are taking the mordor on the All Deuce Run this weekend so we will add another 500 plus miles to the odometer by the time we return home. HRP
The black screen frame suits HRP's car. A chrome screen on ya red beast would make a world of difference.
Two really nice cars. The styles of build are opposites, but I'm one of those kind of guys that likes and appreciates them both. Best part of the "swap", is you're both happy. Makes it a great deal!
I agree. Danny gave me a nice windshield frame as part of the deal. If and when the one that's in there now gets a star in it, I'll change them out. For now I'm not sure it's worth the h***le.
You are correct, both cars are nice but we both saw a few items we needed to fix to make them OUR cars. I am extreamly happy with the trade and I believe Ron is also,I'm sure we will both make changes in the future but for now I am driving the wheels off the car. HRP
Outside of the red car looks fine to me, inside, get rid of some of the bright stuff and call it done.
