Event Coverage Scrap Drive #11, Belvidere, Illinois 6-10-17

11th Annual "Scrap Drive" hot rod show and swapmeet, Saturday, 6-10-17
...we are gearing up for our 11th show, we would like to thank everyone who has supported this show in the past and made it a success.

... last year we gave out a 2017 flyer to every car that entered as well as every swap vendor, we ended up giving out over 900 flyers, so this gives you an idea how big this show is getting.
It's always a great swapmeet with lots of old parts, and a great car show.

...we are continuing to keep entry fees low so everyone can have a good time.
...hope to see a lot of you HAMBers again this year.

 

...event shirt design for this year,...get yours early, they go quick.
...there will be 2 versions available, black and bone colors with 2 color design,..they look great.

 

$10.00 for vendors to sell in the swap area.....sure don't have to sell much before it's all profit!

...our live band this year is the" Dirty Fishnet Stockings "rockabilly band out of Rockford, Illinois. we had these guys a few years ago, and non-car people came to the show just to hear them, they have a great following in the area.

 

I'll be there with some parts for sale. Anyone looking for a NOS 41 Chevy front fender?

 

I'm bring 2 truck cabs , a chopped 38 ford , 1950 chevy, & a 1925 ford touring car body, and lots of early Ford sheet metal

Swap meet start at 8 am?

 

swapmeet vendors, hot rods and spectators can all get in at 6 AM...we don't keep anyone waiting.....,..just don't show up at 5 AM and expect to get in.
...there's always lots to see at our show, so make a day out of it.

I'll be there but don't yet know if I will be vending. Anyone need any 59 Chevy stuff?

 

...bring your parts, you never know who needs em,...I'm bringing a 41 Chevy grille, and a 39 and 48 Chevy car fenders,..maybe some other stuff.

 

I'm heading there. Not selling but looking for crap I don't need , but isn't that what this hobby is all about?

 

Selling some of my "Good Stuff", Would like to meet some of the local "Hambers", look for my black 46 coupe, stop by!

 

Planning to drive the "BelAired" Wagon down. Trying to talk my bro into bringing his chopped '36 Plymouth. Hope to see some of you there. Looks like it's gonna be hot & humid.

 

...last I heard they're saying 88 degrees and 20 mph breeze, so that mite help.

Leaving at 3am to be at the gate at 6. Will be selling, vintage mags, 51-52 Buick front fender, aluminum beer kegs, pool ball shifter knobs and lots of misc. Looking forward to a great first time.

It was a great show and turnout, had car parked in the show car area, and sold some parts in the swap area. It was a good day!
