I just received my tank for the '32 I'm building. Now this my be a dumb question but, the flanges on the tank need to be trimmed down a bit. But the directions say no grinding on the tank. Sent from my SM-N920V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
If you don't grind the tank you'll have to grind the frame. Otherwise it won't fit. Did the same 20 yrs. ago to get it to fit.
Check the frame for correct width at the end of the horns before you cut anything. Welding on the frame, esp. boxing, can pull the frame ends in from shrinkage, sometimes as much as 1/2". Solution is to pump them out to correct width with a porta-power or similar. People will often have issues fitting off the shelf spreader bars for the same reason.
Ok guys shaved down the tank flanges and 1/8" from the welds and took a 1/"16" off each frame horn. The does go in witha bit of a push. I think I'm good! Thanks again! Sent from my SM-N920V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
i wouldn't be afraid to grind a little off. i have also bent the flanges up,down, or in on other tanks to get them to fit.
Oh the little dent.... Saved me about $165 clams... Sent from my SM-N920V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
