supremes or wires? That question has plagued man since the invention of the wheel. You should put wires on one side and supremes on the other!!
you ought to buy what you like. If you like both, different on each side. No one can see both sides at the same time. IMHO-spokes don't look as good.
screw that, WE'RE the ones that gotta look at it! i voted for supremes. but it depends on the look you're going for. if you run wires, no matter what kind, you'll have a dozen people a day tell you "nice lowrider", with astros, only half a dozen!
I tried both on my 62 Impala back in the day. I ended up staying with the supremes. They look better, easier to keep cleen and at the time when I had them they were actually cheeper than spoke rims. At the lowrider shop in San Jose they were 3 1/2 bills w/rubber.But that was back in the 80s bro.
definately not 30 spoke cragars. go low rider...100 spoke daytons. i guess astros, but they are so, well, common.
wires. Daytons, air ride or hydros...and you need to JAM some fuckin Conjunto outta that bitch while you roll in the hood, yo. and wear your silly little mask while you roll on over to the east side.. lets see how the "vatos" dig it then...
Photoshop anyone? Rasputin, I gotta admit, the pix of your ride got me thinkin' about wires again. I was talked out of wires before but damn, every other Bellflower or cruiser has Astros. Whatever I run, they'll be wrapped in pinner whites for sure. As for the conjunto, Pork Chop, we gotta wait 'til I paint up that Tijuana Tacos sign-like the new avatar? Lowrider is the person not the car. I am a bald brown man with a Spanish surname, not a white dude with a pomp. I'll always get 'lowrider' over 'kustom'- I just roll with it
I voted for spokes because I know you like 'em. I wouldn't put them on my car. But if it's a tossup for you, you might as well be different. The Astro look has been done a lot. They're cool, and I may put some on the '58. But the spokes would fit your car as well.
I have a real soft spot for lowriders...I reallly dig em.. if I had the cash I would love an early (61-64) Impala, or Biscayne hardtop with wires, and serious air bags.,, or even hydros...loud ass system to jam CLUTCH ......and a chain steering wheel....man that would be cool. 327, duals...fuck yeah.... and yeah dude.. you do need to paint a "Taqueria" menu and set it on the turtle deck...who else has that??? We ALL know how much you love to be different.. as someone else said.. do what YOU wanna do..daytons dude..daytons.. you can prolly find decent used ones, if you go lookin...and prolly be cheaper than astro's .... you ever plan on bagging it? even just the rear? edit - post some pics of the grille.. I really like how it turned out man.
sounds like my previous riv, astros, hydraulics, loud dual exhaust with glasspacks, and a thousand watts of CLUTCH beltin out spacegrass...damn you make me miss the good ol days!
I thought just the rear but after seeing that late model Caddy with the front/ back/side2side, the wheels are turning...and I'll be jamming Black Flag and Dixie Witch 'cuz I gotta be me Magnesium blocks out back and drag sparks down Congress... I'll get some grille pix after work...
right on bro! I know if you didn't someone else woulda done it. Too bad you live so far away. If we were neighbors I would force you to buy the supremes and then we could keep things fresh by swapping rims every six weeks or so. I didn't place a vote in your pole. I'm a huge fan of both styles and I think your car would look killer with either choice. The supremes are easier to come by and you'll probably catch alot less shit with them. Then again, I roll on the wires cause they're less common and partly because I take comfort in the fact that they'll probably cause some Pontiac resto dude somewhere to beleed out of his ear when he sees my "lowrider". Its your call man. PS- if you're having evil thoughts about your suspension, I'd say you should go all out and juice it. Dixie Witch and Hydros would make for a helluva a combination!!!!
Fuck yeah man.. .got any pics... CLUTCH RULES....the greatest band that no one has ever heard of...haha...
JP, I gotta say I don't see it with wires. Just doesn't look right to me, even though they look great on some cars. Astros would look great on there, but I'm bettin' you could really nail the look for that car with candied steelies and bullet caps. Either way, it should prob'ly come down a little more in the ass end. Oh...who's CLUTCH?!?! Olson
