GM Inline 6 Interchange Guide? 230, 235, 261, 270, 292, 302 Stovebolts?...

  1. This does not belong in this thread.

Yes, the 292 is longer than the 235; the 230/250/292 is a different engine; you may have better luck finding answers searching for 250 swaps.

For the time, trouble, and cost you're just as well off putting a 350 in the car, more cubes and less expense. And you don't have to **** with electic fans.

The 54 chevy bel air comes stoke with a 235 and the 235,250 and 292 are the same length. The 292 is just taller.

I am looking at doing an engine swap. Currently have the original 216 in a 40 Chevy and am looking at replacing it with a 235 from a '52 Canadian Pontiac (Chevy equivalent) The 216 has offy 2 carb intake and Nicson valve cover and side plate as well as split exhaust. Will these parts fit the 235?

The side plate should not fit. The manifolds should fit with some work, the ports will be smaller than on the 235 head.
