Thanks RON, your work has seen vast improvement since you went to the marker. The energy and vibrancy are really bringing things to life. Good stuff

Thanks Jigger....its hard to detail with a marker and have just started experimenting with mixing markers and colored pencils for finer details and am liking it. Plus my drawings are on standard 8.5 x 11 paper, so its tuff to get finer details on sketches this small...I may in the future move to larger paper to make detailing easier...I learn something every time I pick up a pen...Thanks to all for the likes

Great stuff as usual. I can't draw, my form of art is in foundry work. Here is a hubcap design and plaque I did for a Trog car recently......and some of my other recent work......oh and I have a website now.

Hot rodding would not be what it is today without the Edelbrock family... my heart felt condolences to them.

It is Father's Day weekend, so Happy Father's Day, HAMB Daddys!

Historically, when it comes to cars and cameras, my Mom has always been one of my greatest fans. With heavy heart, I confide that my Mom p***ed away on Wednesday morning. I want to dedicate these next few captures to her...

    Thanks Vic!
    Thanks HAMBers!
    Thanks Mom! :)

I hurried this one to get it ready just for today. Finished it about 10 minutes ago. I saw this car at the Atlanta Concours d'Elegance last October and it's been on my list of things to paint ever since. The actual size of the painting of the car, from front bumper to the furthest distance on the rear is just over 24". They tighten up real nice. What a set of collector cards these shots would make.

General Motors missed the boat by not releasing this very car, mags and all.

    Hi Ron,
The Shelby and this Corvette was done in Painter. The highlights were done in overlays. One of the things I do is to paint using a lighter hue of the same color on a second layer, setting the mode to overlay and playing with the opacity. Another REALLY nice thing to do is take it back into Photoshop and use a variety of brushes from https://www.kylebrush.com. They're just outstanding. Here's an example of using some of his watercolor brushes on a combination of layers that have been both reduced in opacity as well as full strength, some painted directly onto the image. It's very tricky but has great potential. I'm still evolving, having taken up illustrating cars and airplanes as a hobby a few years ago and only having 20-25 or so under my belt.
I think the real key to a great picture is capturing the exact angle where the car just "says" something.

Without people with your mad art skills there wouldn't be anything to post on Fridays. I seriously appreciate the talent of the fine craftsmen who do your kind of work. I look at this kind of stuff and marvel at it.
