Event Coverage The Custom Car Revival 2017

  1. Wow, whatever was done to the roof really makes this early 50's Chevy stand out from the others. Any info about the build on this one?

  3. Nice low light pic of the Chevy Tom. Looks like you snapped it before I discovered the bird doo on the trunk lid. Haha!

The stories I provided are stories I already knew from 57 years of attending car shows!

I rarely interview owners, many times they are not around and I would rather be shooting than taking notes. Dan Greenburg is very good with providing information with each, not sure how he has the time to do it all, but good for him.

Dave, the sad part is that I saw it and cloned it out; but somehow I uploaded the original, unretouched version...oops!

Of course, had you said nothing, no one would have even noticed. Hahah

Friday was a trip to the Historic Stutz factory. The present day owner has preserved the interior and exterior. It is a combination of office space, art galleries and all throughout, displays of his impressive classic car collection. One section was being used as a workspace for a local racing team , who had opened it just for our group..

I remember seeing photos of this T-bird in the magazines back in 1956. It was built by ClarkKaiser in Detroit. I believe they were in the business of building prototypes for the Big Three. Even back then, this car struck me as more than a typical custom; it had the experimental vibe. I was built from a new car. The gentleman who owns it now was a friend of the original owner back then and he helped in the original design.

  24. Thanks for all the hard work Tom getting all these great shots of some of the nicest customs around. Would have liked to been there but went to the roadster show instead.
