Mechanical brakes? Eek! Thank God Dodge had excellent hydraulic braking systems!

I am adding a brake assist from a 1951 2 ton truck and upgraded to the larger drums offered in the 1939 and later. I should stop quicker than I can accelerate! LOL

I love trucks

 

I don't see much interest in the mid 50's mopar trucks. Are they hard to find or just that no one wants to own one?

 

Compared to Ford and GM there just wasn't that many Dodge's produced. I do think that they are getting more popular as I've seen more and more of them show up at local shows.
I had a 1959 D100 awhile back. I ended up getting rid of it before doing anything with it. I just had too many irons in the fire.

As much as I liked the large 20" white walls, I needed the truck to handle better as I am using it more and more.
So I changed them for 18" slightly wider and now the handling and traveling in the truck is superb.
