Hot Rods 37 to 40 ford question

Recently picked up a 38 ford deluxe with a 350. Looking to change out the current accessory brackets. Currently using a speedway upper alt bracket that has been cut and welded to fit and still can't get the belt to line up. Short water pump and has PS, mustang2 front clip. Need help with fitment and which brackets work. Want to keep mechanical fan. Attached pic of motor and my helper

 

I'm using Speedway's p***enger side alternator mount on my 38 standard and the positioning is very good.. I did have to extend the upper mount to reach the driver side head but alignment was good.. Don't know if these pics will help much.. Good luck...**clic pic for larger image**

 

S**** I think I am using the same one. Mounts to water pump and on top of the intake? I bought a new one and it didn't come close to fitting. The one I am using is cut and rigged together. Thinking of a mid mount

Mine came with a bunch of different spacers to put the alternator in correct alignment.. I like the way it tucks it in at the top of the motor and away from the hood sides...

I did this to a 57 Chevy with short water pump. Used a piece of 1/4 in. steel plate that I had in my steel bin, note the alt mount. Design Could be reversed to p*** side.
