  1. Don, Lots of non-car, or casual car guys drift into those free cruise nights. You've seen and heard them, I'm sure.

I've never seen those, and I like them! Had fleeting thoughts about finding a set until I read this post, so I'll have to p***!

And I like these, too! Wonder if they could be put over a set of 302 valve covers and look right? Not trying to fool anybody, but I think they would look good on the 302 in My 47 Lincoln. At least they come from the same company. What did they come on originally? Even cutting out the centers and welding them onto a set of 302 covers might look pretty good. Been thinking about different options for mine other than what everybody else has.

Of course, and they are the same folks that like that thing with two motors and 4 blowers, and I really don't care what those folks think. Now if they want to Learn, I will be happy to help, otherwise, doesn't matter to me what they think.

The bugs on your windshield won't care. Drive it like you stole it. If something bothers you change it. If it bothers someone else good, Not your problem.

I know it's just me, but I hate any valve covers that are not from the same make engine as what they are going on. Don't care if you put older Olds covers on a newer Olds motor, or weld the tops of older Cad script covers on a newer Cad covers. Just seems like when you put Olds covers on a Chev engine you are trying to fool people into thinking you have a cooler motor then you really have. So your Lincoln covers on a SBC fall into that category. The people who know what they are looking at will think poser, the people who don't know what they are looking at are being fooled, which is wrong in so many ways. Just my 2 cents worth.

  12. I think the valve covers are particularly tasty. changing what you have for some off-t******lf Chevy pieces that have been done to death would be a huge step backward into mediocrity. (My apologies to 50% of the HAMB.)

So, Mr OP..... if the heat gets too much for you, get creative and slap something like these antique door finger plates to cover up the Lincoln cross but still show off the uniqueness of what you've got..........

You only have to cover the middle 4/6/8/10 inches to keep the peasants bearing torches from storming your castle. Let me be the 35th to say "nice car". ;)

That's a beautiful car and it sounds dependable. Definitely looks like it would be fun to drive. Drive it, enjoy it, do whatever YOU want to do with it. Don't worry about what other people think. It's your car.
