Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by englishrodder, Jun 27, 2017.

  1. Hi All,

Can anyone ID this early trans for me? Its bolted to a Cadillac Flathead that im looking to buy. It has an integral bell housing which is different from all the other Cad/LaSalle trans ive seen

looks like a series 37-90 transmission,
what year is the engine and how many cylinders?

  3. The engine is a 38 Cadillac. So the trans is Cad or Lasalle? The ones Ive seen have the shifter much closer to the front like the Buick trans and the gears loaded in the base

Looks like the Series 37-90 pictures in my 1937 & 1938 shop manual.

on line search shows the Series 37-90 cars having 8, 12 or 16 cylinders

yes looks quite different than the typical Series 60 "Cad/Lasalle" transmissions

  6. Great Thanks for the info! Im gonna try and convert it to a Ford Torque Tube as well!
