Man, been a while since I was there, but we used to take a couple summers at Black Point in the mid-70's. I particularly remember being there when Jaws came out, talk about kids cracking wise about sharks! But we didn't seem to go out very far either.
There used to be a ship that was washed up on a sand bar or a reef and it was a wreck that didn't get towed off. We got into big trouble with our parents for trying to paddle out there on rubber rafts.

Maybe you should have pulled the whole thing out of the sand, sprayed a couple of coats of clear on it to preserve the patina and put it on the road..............

What is it with kids and digging holes?:) Me and a friend thought we needed a cave so we started digging one into a six foot bank..Dirt was hard and we got in about four feet and started thinking about finding wood for shoring after we stopped digging today...We only made it about another six inches before discovering a yellow jacket nest in operation:eek:....

Ted, That is the remains of a T starter switch, bolted to the frame and activated with your heal pushing on it. Bob

  30. Ted after spending a lot of time in North Carolina.{i used to live on the coast there}I found they used old cars a lot to help build up the sand dunes.I think some one posted about it on here a while ago. We spend a lot of time on the Outer Banks of N.C.{been fishing it since my dad started taking us there in the late 60s surf fishing}They still do this when a big storm come and cuts a new inlet through the island they still fill it with old cars and put a temp. Bridge over all the cars till they pump it back full of sand and then repave it and take out the bridge. We love out there but love our mountians up here too. Have fun buddy. Bruce. 006.JPG
