Welded brackets on to forged fender braces. No headlight shake or any problems,it has been two years now.

Just done an ebay search using the following "hot rod front shock bracket ford" and there is a variety of items offered that will give you a better idea of what is available and how much they can cost...

    Good luck.

From past experience; I would have the fenders & brackets mocked up into place when figuring out the upper mounts.

I don't recommend welding shock brackets to the fender braces. My little brothers A coupe's front fenders shake enough (his wife was just talking about it today) and it doesn't even have the shocks attached to it.

I would recommend the forged F-1 mounts. Easy to bent and fit to your particular situation.

  9. check out pete & jakes part # 1087

  10. Another vote for F1 brackets, have the fender and braces on for mock up.

Make sure what ever bracket you do choose, when installed has a matching tilt back to match the caster angle of your front axle.

    Thanks everyone.
I have just put my fenders back on my A roadster.
    I have a set of F1 mounts.
The problem is I was using the cross member side rivet holes (drilled out) to use a modified set of F1 mounts w/headlight bar cup welded to them.
Those same hole do not work so well as the fender braces are in the way.
I need to extend the other set of unmodified F1's out about 1/2 an inch or so away from the frame then reshape the F1 mount.
I don't want it to look cobbled.

    1oldtimer.......that may be a resolution for me....thanks.

When you bend up those F-1 mounts, try to keep some vertical difference between the mounting bolts; I have seen a couple frame failures where the mounts had been reshaped with the bolts lined up horizontally.

  14. I had Pete & Jake's weld mounts onto my AA frame, but realized much later that they lined up directly with the fender mounts. Easy fix: cut them off, angled them slightly downward to clear the fender brackets and re-welded them. SOLID!

  15. Here's another shot, they have just enough angle to work.
