Every since I was 12 years old, when I say a neighbor drag one out of his garage.I have wanted a old circle track coupe. This one just showed up in a local storage yard I pass by everyday....Wonder if I could buy it?
hey that looks pretty neat! hard to tell from the pic, but is it a 30-31 model a, sectioned but not chopped? motor in it?
Eric, your in Denver? check out this web site, you might even find out who owns it or used to. My uncle is # 5d. Look under Lakeside Speedway. http://www.coloradoracingmemories.com/index.htm
Thanks for the tip on the website, just spent 1/2 hour looking around. Will no doubt spend a bunch of time looking at that.I'm new to Denver and don't know all the local hero's.I have met some of the old racers.I've joined the Denver Timing Asc.and have been attending the Denver Roadsters meetings. There is a lot of hot rod history in this town. The annual DTA meeting was at Kenz-Leslie warehouse/shop.Hanging from the ceiling was a old Mercury funny car body!(like the ones on that website) I will find out more about that old coupe!
If you like these old circle track coupes check out the Canadian Vintage Modifieds.I am building one this winter.Theres another good site called Grandpas Racing.
K9, If you see Sam from Rocco and Cheaters, you may let him know about that one for sale also. I know that last year when we were down there he was talking about building a Jalopy racer. Chris Nelson Kansas
