I'm gona be in Columbus Ohio for a few days and I was wondering if any one know any old wrecking yards close by? I wouldn't mind seeing if I could find a few parts for some my projects or just look around.

    Thanks, happy Fourth of July!

If you're going to be there this weekend, why not stop by the fairgrounds and see 6,500 or so hot rods at the GoodGuys National...

There's a great junkyard full of old cars in Dayton which isn't too far away. I went there once with HAMB member "Junkyardjeff" who lives there (in Dayton, not in the junkyard:D) so send him a PM for the address or maybe he'll be available to take you there. Good luck....

The wife is from Columbus. There used to be a million cars in the front yards of the South End to build from. Of course that was 40 years ago. You can still find parts if you ask the right people. Most of the wrecking yards in Columbus have gone to the wayside but you can always check out the situation. Check out Westerville area.

I'll look him up thanks. I heard of one or 2 but I can't find them on the map. Think one of them was called turners maybe?

  7. You have to go to R&D Auto in Deerfield Ohio I am not sure how far it's from Columbus, but it will be worth the trip. The yard is mostly vintage stuff! Hobo Jim

Warners, in Mt Sterling is the closest that has any old stuff, but it's mostly rusted or picked over, and priced high. Just east of 71 south, on sr 56

Warners would be the closest and there is Starks in Dayton which is also very picked over and very rusty.

Warners is much bigger then Starks but might be hard to see the very old stuff due to weeds.

At Warners there are old cars with the newer ones all the way to the back but the old section which is the front third of the property was overgrown the last time I was there and the back lot at Starks is too and you can not see much and need to know where they are to find them.
