so i lost a bolt on my exhaust hanger, and the freeway ate the bushing that goes on it. so i diss***embled a skateboard truck and used the poly bushings to slap it back together. not the most amazing tech, but using skate stuff on my car just feels so right to me....and it works good. what skate goodies have you used on your car or bike?

I actually used to have a set of bright pink slime balls mounted up to some blue tracker trucks (or were they gullwings... hmmm)... yes! I would look ruler! Or some OJIIs! Tons of cool old wheels out there!

That Spitfire is a 101 durometer... F-IN HARD WHEEL! I've seen 90-ish skate wheels used and survive. I think this 101 should be alright actually... will probably need a groove turned into it to guide the chain a bit though... I guess I'll find out if I decide to use it...

Heh, hadn't thought about that in a while. I still have a set of OJII Freeze Streets on my old skate (a Jeff Kendall graphic hand w/Trackeer Ultra-Lites). I need to get it out and ride it again. If I ever need a chain tensioner, I will have to keep this in mind.

That's funny, on my F-100 I have "Clouds" bushings for exhaust hangers, and here I thought I was so cool. Used to have a skateboard wheel on my roller pedal in the bug. I'm building a street buggy now and I'll probably do the skateboard wheel trick on that one too...

I have a old hosoi board with some independant trucks and slime balls. Someone gave it to me and its stored at my parents in the barn somewhere.
I may have some use for it one day.

Ebay...if it's in good shape you'd be surprised at the market on old school skate stuff, and BMX bikes too.

Now if I can just find a pair of unopened high-top VSW punkskulls, size 9.5..... :D

  12. Skateboards are great to have when you break down far away from anything.
I think the H-bomb needs a skateboard mount.

I ride BMX so I know about that stuff. The board is in bad shape. The wheels and trucks may be good on it for someone doing a retro build. I may go find it and take pics and post on here. If its worth anything I'll have a HAMB auction.

I never was into skateboarding so Iknow little about it.

I used a skateboard wheel on an old tandem bike as a tensioner once. Worked good but I think that Triumph will spin that chain a bit faster than the old tandem.

i've actually seen a skateboard wheel used as a chain tensioner before. but the guy who did it spun it on a laith and cut the tread part down like 3/8" and left the side walls. this kept the chain from running off the side of the wheel. lasted at least 2 years!
