Try this link off the H.A.M.B. It will take you to a site where the guy builds up a model A coupe. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61640 Then, Do a search on here. You won't find better info on the Web on how to build traditional hot rods. Then, Go out and buy Mike Bishop's book, called the AV8 "Bible" by some, "How to Build a Traditional Ford Hot Rod".
there's a HAMBr here that documented his whole build...i just can't remember who or where...... You'll NEVER spend a better $20 than the book above! Seriously, go right now to Amazon and buy. Go, don't wait......hurry up.........you're still reading here...
There is an early 50,s Hot Rod Magazine (maybe 1951?) that has an AV8 build up with lots of detail. Sorry I can't remember exact issue, but I used it when I built mine. That Ron Bishop/Vern Tardel book is good also. I liked the Hot Rod mag though, it speaks right from "the day".
There are some pages on my site dedicated to the build up of my 31 on 32 rails, follow the link to the index page, then the "Old Rusty" pages. I'm told a 31 on 32 rails isn't an "AV8" as such, but it may be interesting none the less. www.martsrods.com Mart.
