straightened the dings out where I drove into a motel veranda with it on the back of my ute... and it's time to chop a top!started at 3" and decided it needed more. I went to 3 3/4 and it will end up at 4.5". Plenty of rust to be cut out of this one so the bigger chop I do the less rust replacement I will need to do!. I also found the time to repair these tired 32 panels with the intention of building a pickup cab from sedan parts... I've seen a few photos of this and heard it was a common conversion in South America among other countries. doors were rough! I had to laugh at you with your left foot in an air cast and leaning on crutches. I sprained my left foot twice in ten days and have exactly the same equipment! LOL. Slowly getting back to my toys. Get those screws removed; I had two put in in '73 after areally bad break playing hockey. Never had them removed and putting on skates, ski boots, etc. is literally a pain where they press on those two screws. More pics of your project please. press on those screws.

I thought I'd share a few pics of the 35 I'm working on to help fund the 32.4.5" chop top. I bought three cabs and sold the 38 with a 42 for patch panels, but kept the rear panel of the 42. The rear panel of the 42 will be used to patch the 35. The 35 was missing the inner latch panel of the cab so the 42 one will be used. I see alot of the process as increasing my skill level as well as saving some old metal that was honestly grabbed from the scrap metal yard! I'm excited about how this 35 will turn out and it will make someone an excellent project that will be ready to drop on a frame! The 35 sat on it's back for many years! I was lucky enough to pick up a rear window for $10 around a year ago at a swap meet, I thought it was too good not to grab for that sort of money. 12 months later and I'm pretty stoked that I picked it up.

So, I decided the top sheet metal of my 32 roadster cowl had to go. It was rusted from the inside out because my roadster sat upside-down for quite a while.I took the sheet metal from a dodge bonnet that wouldn't sell.I have cowl vent parts to go back in as well.
I'm liking your vision you look at a dodge hood and see a 32 cowl repair section well done , now please tell me about your plans for the lower window seal area and the ends were the windscreen stansions bolt on , I'm asking not to be smart but I have to repair that area on my 32 cowl regards scott

I am really enjoying your resourceful ness. If you come unstuck with any of your panel fabrication, send me through some measurements. I have a bit of equipment for the job not to mention plenty of original steel of my own to draw on.
I am amazed at the poor repair on this 32 dash that just arrived. Bronze welded, over heated, lap welds with lots and lots of filler! A little more progress. Played around with column drop parts I picked up. Not sure if it'll work for the 32 but what the hell. I cleaned it up anyway.half 32 Desoto, half 27 oldsmobile I believe.cleaned my 40 wheel up a little and started to clean up a replacement head.also played with the idea of using these little oil filters as air filters. started on the louvres. Couple of issues with the deck lid that I need to straighten out. Bit of a twist in it and the bronze welded lower patch has to come out as it's pretty crude. Had about 10mm of bog in places as well. Sent from my SM-N910G using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
