Hey folks, while I am in the process of building a frame for my '40 Chrysler, I am also working on an Airstream. I am trying to find someone who can punch a bunch of louvers in two aluminum panels that I am building an access door for the fridge out of. I'd prefer to find someone from in OR, incase I like 'em enough to louver the fenders/hood of my car. I am hoping to find 1 1/4". I have already contacted SAR, a few other shops, and some private parties that I was told to. However, the few I have talked to arent doing them anymore. Any leads would be appreciated.
Maybe a restaurant supply place would have something. Saw this at the local diner here in southern Oregon....you could trim it to fit....
Most sheet metal shops of any size will have louver dies and would be more than happy to accommodate you.
@31Dodger, I've actually tried a few kitchen panels that some shops had. Problem I have found is that all the ones I've checked so far would require me to cut/flatten louvers to clear the radius corners of the door. @Sheep Dip, none of the shops I have gone into would press my panels. They all have pre-pressed panels, but then I run into the above problem.
I punch 3" louvers for $3 a hole. I'm in Lebanon, but in the process of moving to Dundee. Chris 541.974.1553 www.chriskopp.biz Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
