Newbie hello from Kansas

Found this forum a couple days ago and have gotten hooked. I have seen and read more helpful information here than anywhere I have lurked in the past year. I have already broken one cardinal rule and posted before my introduction hope its not too distressing.
My project is a 30 Model A pickup that started life as a AA truck. Check out my picture and let me have it.

I have always wondered if the AA cab was different from a regular Model A. Is it bigger? Any parts swap directly?

Welcome! As soon as you get those wheels painted red you'll fit right in.

 

Guna answer a coupla threads.

First as far as I can tell and from what I have been told a AA is exactly cab wise the same as an A pickup. I think you can tell from the pic that the radiator shell is different from a car I am told this is a commercial shell. I have seen AA with either and pickups the same way but hard to tell if thats the way they were originally or not.

Now to the wheels, I have not decided on wheels yet just borrowed these from a friends trailer to start my first mock-up. Will accept suggestions as I have considered painted, or chrome steelies and also slots or radir wheels.

Despite my blub above I agree that the subject of wheels deserves a lot of thought to create a major portion of the scene that you are trying to show. For my own '50 Ford I'm leaning toward chrome with baby moons. I'm sure that there are some photo shop geniuses that can help you decide by chopping in a few styles if you give them a good view to work with.

 

I have ordered the Holley t-shirt with the pickup on it kinda turned on by it. We'll see but have always been a ****er for slots, but a set of chrome milners might do the trick to.

Hey whats up, Topeka area here, and also a newbie. This place is really cool anit it, I got hooked on it too. Seems to be alot of people in here from Kansas and KC area.

 

There seem to be several Kansans here kinda surprising we can hang on the telephone pole in the wind and still type. Garden city Dodge city aera here.
