The Kauffman boys have taken Pontiac horsepower to new heights 1150 hp on a 535 cu in displacement block! UNBLOWN!! Woo hoo! Watch the video. http://www.enginelabs.com/news/dyno-video-535ci-pontiac-pulls-over-1150-horspower/ Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I had a Pontiac in my Bonneville car one year. 455 block. 1968 "16" heads. 455 crank. You know a Pontiac. What is Pontiac about this? Intake won't fit. Exhaust won't fit. Cam won't fit. You can call it a Pontiac. Or you could call it a Nash. About just as close.
I appreciate innovation and all and am up for as many horsepower as possible....but the last thing that comes to my mind in looking at that picture is Pontiac.
You don't see a traditional Pontiac here and I don't think it was meant to be. Perhaps it was about making horsepower only rather than aesthetics. Read the article I posted from Hot Rod Magazine on the HAMB regarding the tripower 100 horsepower increase. It's more traditional in scope and detail. Hope you like it. Kauffman had there prototype Pontiac Hemi heads out at Norwalk this year. I know one Gasser builder who was super excited.
