    Hello,

I saw this cool custom truck in Long Beach. Sitting at my computer, going through and organizing my files, I saw it just staring at me, so it had to be here. This custom truck fits the bill. So Cal 50’s style cruising the streets.

The Chevy truck was one of the nicest at the recent Lions Dragstrip Museum opening event. It was parked in front of Tommy Ivo’s clear glass, race car, carrier trailer. It was the best looking truck at the event and IMHO, one of the coolest custom trucks around.

Appletons, Lancer hubcaps, Frenched headlights, fog lights, custom rear tire skirts, a radical chopped top, nicely done louvers, and a custom bed cover all added to the custom truck look.

It must have hydraulics as there was only about a two finger clearance in the rear fender/bumper area. It was LOW.

Odd, just had to catch up on 15 pages of thread, says I'm following it, and I never shut it off. Just stopped getting email alerts. Weird! Posting this to see if it will kick in my email alerts again. May as well throw in my mild kustom Chevy while I'm at it. thumbnail_DSCN0278.jpg

  10. Mickey, you know I can't look at enough '59's.
(I got to see that one in Santa Maria) ;)

I saw just the one picture before I saw the ones that I posted. The attention to the paint detail is just too kool.

The 50 Merc way back circa 1977 & now forty years later in 2017 at Notnek Garage. Much has changed but the hub caps remain solid as a rock.....

One of my favorite Stuckey built Kustoms that didn't get finished.

I saw a set of those hubcaps for sale this summer at The Custom Car Revival this summer in Indy.
Which one of his was in Salina last year. It was a 40 Sedan.

The wheel openings have been modified from the earlier photos. They don't "hug" the tires as much.
And the front ones I can't explain...suspension changed? smaller rims?
Seem to be cut higher in the front fenders too.
    Maybe its the camera angle?

I hadn`t ever seen them either. The guy had them for over 40 years. He said it was time to thin out his collection. He was from the east coast. Remind me later, I have pic`s on my camera I can post. .

also someone chopped it....I sure wish someone would make a nice car out of it...

  26. In this early photo (which I believe Mark has) you can see the front wheel openings were hogged out.
The rear of the car sat quite a bit higher.

Here are some better pic`s I took at Greasearamma about 3 years ago. I thought looked like a car that had some cool history to it. The guy was estatic last year in Salina when he learned it had Stucky history to it. He wanted Dave to see the car. I have better pics of it from the Salina show on my camera. Scan0349.jpg Scan0350.jpg Scan0351.jpg Looks like Sancho just posted some.

yup I have the 2x2 paper photo of that at home. this car deserves much more than to be a rat rod... someone please save it

  29. Seeing the Stuckey 40 and what it was headed for and where it is now kind of reminds me of my Sectioned and Channeled Panel and where it once was and is now. Just plain Sad.
