I just recently purchased a 49 Ford "Shoebox" with a Flathead V8. It's safe to say that I have a lot of work to do but I'm pretty stoked about this new journey ahead. I'm new to the HAMB but I'm no stranger to the cl***ics. Located a short ways west of Detroit, there are all sorts of hot rod enthusiast and resources out here but I figured it was about time I hopped on the HAMB wagon with the rest of you kats so I can get some solid insight on things I might need help with. - Cheers
Welcome from Mississippi. You're right, the HAMB is a valuable resource for knowledge and insight. Folks on the HAMB helped me immensely when I was building my coupe. No other website compares, period. The 49 looks great, appears you're off to a good start.
There's something about women and shoes (shoeboxes)[emoji2]! I couldn't resist! Looks great, a few more photos would also be great! What are your plans? Sent from my SM-N910G using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I'm waiting on a new wiring harness to come in so I can replace the birds nest that is currently in there. In the mean time, looks like we'll have to fix the throttle linkage since the rod to the pedal seems to have busted last weekend. That put the kibosh on getting her out in the sun for the next weekend or two...But I think next I'll get her front and rear bumpers re-chromed. Up next on the list is new wheels, lowering a smidge to get that stance just right, then I'll move on to bodywork and paint. Here are a few more pics:
Looks good, make sure you start a build thread so we can follow your progress! Don't know if you've seen this yet or not, but Ford Aerostar front springs work perfectly for lowering the front about 2.5".
