Hello i am travelling from Australia to Hershey and Carlisle swap meets in October 2017,and i have heard there are shipping companies who have spots at the swaps where you can leave your purchased goods which are then packed and shipped to you home port,I am looking for any names and phone numbers of these companies to verify this, Thanks in advance, Paul
I would contact Carlisle and Hershey people directly to find out who is a regular shipper Before you go and make arrangements with them. Be prepared....$$$$$
You'll have a great time. Here are the contact sites for the organizations putting on these shows. https://www.hersheyaaca.org/contact.html http://www.carlisleevents.com/carlisle-events-contact-us/default.aspx There are lots of threads about visiting car shows in Central Pennsylvania in late September and early October-read ahead. A**** some things to consider: 1. Housing can get tight, especially if you don't have a vehicle. Public transportation is very poor. You may find it cheaper to stay in Harrisburg or even some of the small towns west and north of Harrisburg and drive in. Check out AirBnB ,too. 2. Weather is always variable and it often rains. A rainsuit is the first thing I pack for Hershey. Wear good walking shoes and bring extra socks. Dress in layers. 3. There are vendors offering vehicle shipping at Hershey, I can't recall any at Carlisle, but probably, as above-check ahead. 4. Bring lots of water and snacks. 5.Hit Hershey the first day and a lot of people haven't set up but deals are being made. Saturday at Hershey-most of the vendors are shuttered or gone. But, if you want to see the judged cars, that's the day to go. 6. If you have time, make a side trip to the Gettysburg battlefield. Really quite amazing.
Thanks so much for the information, we will be doing some sight seeing and is there anything else you can think on places to visit that would be great, thanks
AACA museum is in Hershey. You can easily visit between shows. America On Wheels in Allentown Pa is also nice to visit. Hollywood Casino near Hershey will help you get rid of spare change you have left after Hershey. I go to watch the ponys run. There are a few antique shops near Hershey as well.
I have always heard that, but in the 10 years that I went I never saw any. Always had to take to the Post office myself. Great swap meets I really miss going
I know some locals that ship for foreign buyers. They will ship cars or parts in containers, but I've never seen anyone advertising at a flea market space. Look in the vendors book when you get here.
