Quick question, i was tearing down my 355 and noticed that 2 sets of my solid roller lifters were different brands. 4 are crane cams and 14 are crower. Im guessing who ever had/built the engine before must have damaged some. Im just wondering if this will cause a off balance somewhere down the line or good to go back in.

Engine will never know the difference, ensure they are the type w pressurized oil to the roller.....or consider new ones if you are running them on the street

Push rod length and valve train geometry may be off on the different than built versions.

Sounds like a possible failure and replaced w whatever was cheaper at the time....if standard replacement-- like to like then shudnt be pushrod length issues. Common sizes are stock height or tall type for using on late model blocks (hydraulic roller factory style). Roll engine through by hand, set lash, watch rocker on valve stem and see if travels properly. Doubt a pushrod issue, but check the relationship

I broke a roller rocker in a SBC I had in a boat 15 years ago. I replaced it temporarily with a stock rocker because that was all I could find on a weekend. It was still in there when I sold the boat 5 years later, and the guy that I sold it to hasn't said anything, so I'll bet it's still in there.

  11. That's a very logical guess.
When those after market roller lifters fail, where's the pieces go?
