Vintage shots from days gone by!

A now deceased friend of mine that lived in Northern California said that everything from San Francisco and south is considered to be Mexico.

Ah, the good old days! When men were men, woman were woman, and if you were a criminal they shot you!

 

Most importantly women dressed like women, dresses, stockings, heels, make up and worked hard to be feminine and lady like. I love these photos from them days kinda wish women would go back to those ways.

The Kapiti Coast road north of Wellington, New Zealand 1955. A Newmans Coachlines Ansair Flxible bus (1 of 6 built in Australia) has hit something.

 

1949 and the opening of the new bridge over the Rangitikei River, North Island, New Zealand. A typical selection of mostly American cars of the pre WW2 era seen on New Zealand roads in the day. The circa 1947 Chrysler in the far distance will be one of the government limousines. The oldie coupe in the foreground is mid 1920s Studebaker.

 

The new suburb of Wainuiomata, near Wellington, New Zealand 1964. Apparently on this occasion the locals were asked to drive slowly up and down the newly surfaced road to compact it.
