Technical 289 studebaker engine vin

    Hi I just got a 1960 studebaker lark and it has a 289 engine. My problem I can't fine the engine vin code that matches any years. It's P100947. I found P101-000.can anybody help. I know that year Lark did not come with 289 engines. A 259 were offered.

    first year of the P was 1956.....last year was 1964.....maybe you have a late 1964 or ?

    One way to tell a 63/64 block is by the spin on filter they created on the low right of the block....before they had the filter canister add on's....
