Hello all I've been doing my research on t5 swaps and learned the majority of what ill need.
I am running a 1962 235 (truck/stick) in a 1950 chevy 1/2 pickup the bell housing on a 62 has the clutch fork on the p***. side and Im needing to know if an earlier bell will swap in that has the fork on driver side.

info on this is much appreciated as I have not found this specific dilemma addressed on any of the main tech pages here or elsewhere.

Try asking at the 216 board linked in my signature. It's a slow sight, but someone there can surely tell you.

All chevrolet 216-261 bellhousing and 228-302 GMC bellhousings will bolt on as their 6 holes are in the same position on the blocks. They should be checked for proper alignment.

Out of curiosity, shouldn't the throw-out bearing still operate properly, regardless of what side the fork came in on?

A 1947-1954 Chevy pickup bell housing will bolt right on, as far as I know.

Their may be some variance in the side mounts that go to the frame. That should be easy to overcome.

Don't forget that you will need to add a rear transmission support to any non-stock transmission.
