A great big thank you to Gary at Cornhusker Rod & Custom for a job well done. We picked up our chassis and body from Cornhusker in Alexandria, Nebraska this weekend, and it was well worth the 11 1/2 hr trip (one way). His quality of workmanship is second to none. He is very knowledgeable and incredibly resourceful in his trade. He was extremely helpful in locating the Brookville body we were looking for. Here's some of the first pics from our new build...

I worked on a lot of '32's through the years. Most all of them had something wrong or rust. I wouldn't trade mine for a real '32 that I didn't know what was under the paint anyway. With new manufacturers and the body's and sheet metal work for 20 Grand, it's a bargain. I'm sure you will love your new car.

  5. Very nice work. Love that internal bracing. Not cheap setup I know.

Brookville makes a nice product. Brookville had a rolling chassis' at the last Pleasanton Goodguys show. Sure makes a build easier and faster. For what you get, I think they are reasonable priced.

I have 2 roadsters from Cornhuskers, Gary is a great guy builds great cars. I bought mine as rollers from him then did the rest myself, makes it easy...his price is right too.

    chopperguy and wildturkey,

if you don't mind saying, approximately how long for Gary to deliver from time he starts? I realize I could ask Cornhuskers but I thought they must be busy and this is just my planning stage question. When I retire I want to ride off into the sunset in my '32 highboy roadster.

I first sent Don a bid the last week of June. By the first week of July he sent a down payment and we were off and running. His project was helped by the fact that I had the parts like the QC, Rails, Lincoln brakes etc. on the shelf so I could get going on his project. Also I got the body a week after we began, so things moved along very quickly. It doesn't always click like that? The roadster PU that the Wild Turkey bought from me was a project that I had started for myself and ran out of gas, so it allowed him to have a running start on it. On his roadster it's been so long ago I can't remember. Gary at Cornhusker

Mounted the headlamp buckets and replaced lower windshield sanctions with Brookville brass. Much better fit.
