So I just picked up an old drag car and was checking the numbers. This block has two casting numbers. 3970010 and 366345. I'm not sure what to make of that and can't find any info online. The 2nd number seems like it's a high tin bowtie block. But yet it still has the 0010 stamping also. Anyone seen this before?

    That's a small block.
Does it have 2 bolt or 4 bolt mains?
Does the dip stick come out of the oil pan?
What are the numbers stamped on the P*** side engine pad?
What are the numbers on the heads?

010 casting signifies a 4 inch bore block, could be either 2 or 4 bolt depending on application

  5. I think the original poster wants to know if anyone has seen a sbc with the two casting numbers, one below the other

I have seen double numbers numerous times.
Drinking has a tendency to do that.;)

I found the 366245 casting nuber showing as: 78-82 350 Bowtie High Tin 4-bolt. (Fifth casting # down in the link below) Could be an over the counter 3970010 sand casting with 366245 casting signfying a high tin/nickel block? (I don't really know for sure..Just guessing. Never seen two casting #s before.)

  10. You have a 010 block, which is considered to be one of the better blocks. It should be a 4 bolt block, but although I have never seen one, it could also be a 2 bolt block.
