Hello. Recently acquired a 1951 Anglia that was raced at one point, as most of them were. This car is all steel with very little rust at all. It still sits on its original frame. The body is still riveted to the frame as they originally were. Intend to make a decent street rod out of it with no thoughts of ever racing. Have a few questions and wondered if anyone on the board can provide some suggestions.
Planning on aftermarket frame or possibly (?) using original frame. Basic 350-350 combo. What is the best way to tie in the floor. I'm ***uming that a steel floor needs welded in to be able to bolt body to frame through the floor.
    What radiator is normally used?
Any points or tips from anyone that has done an Anglia build would be appreciated. I'm an experienced street rod builder. Just never encountered a body that is riveted to the frame.
    Thanks in advance

Driving one right as we speak. Started with an original car, never touched from new. I honestly don't remember rivets (it's been too long a project), but I did do a new floor, start to finish. I have plenty of build pictures. Ch***is etc.. Rather not fill your thread with my stuff, e-mail: mcs2fabrication@yahoo.com. Feel free to talk to me. I did 350 Chevy with a 5 speed. Camaro trans with an S-10 tailshaft. Happy to help with whatever I can.

Bump this up. Can't believe we're the only two with these cute little cars.

I think one reason for no answer's...is that for every Anglia (Willys, Austin, etc.) out there...each one has its "own" setup..!
Every builder has his or her own desires and shouldn't be asking "how do I do......?"
Looking at pictures from from all over the net is one way to start, using ones imagination is the best way to finish.
I know one of the guys that owned my Anglia wanted to put it on the street. I told him the ch***is wouldn't work right and would never survive on the street. I found out later after he'd spent a bunch of time and a bit of money "trying" to make it street-able, he sold it.

Considering their small size, would a simple ladder type frame do the deal?

Think Pop Brown has kind of retired. Good alternative is small Ford spares. Great service, and I've never been disappointed in quality.

I'd try Jim Unger Racing ch***is shop in Dayton, OH (637)-223-3631. Or go to jimungerracing.com. You could also try ScottRods in Monroeville, OH (419) 499-2705. Or go to scottrodscustom.com. I'm not sure but I think Gordon Crowe does their ch***is and he does good work.

Looks excellent so far. Strongly recommend Julian at Pop Parts Plus here in the U.K. As I have dealt with him for nearly 20 years with great results always.
