Ok cool.....I guess I will pick some up and use a thin coat of these on each side of all the gaskets and see how it works.

I ended up getting permatex super high tack gasket sealant. Hopefully this works well.

I know this is an old thread but here goes.

What do you do for the threads on the bolts? Mine seem to be acting like an Archimedes screw with the oil coming up the bolts. (maybe I should be glad oil is getting up onto the valves to begin with)

If threads and holes are clean, liquid teflon works good, probably something better out there, but I never needed it.

I guess I need to ask, which bolts. I've only needed sealer on the bolts that go into the water p***ages, mainly the front cover/water pump. There's some bolts on aY that will bottom out if they're too long, so where is the problem?

The two that hold the valve covers down. The oil is weeping it's way up the threads and over the nuts.

I've had the intakes off my Y a half dozen times and the valley cover too and it has never leaked. I sealed the gasket to the cover with Permarex #2 and nothing on the block. The pan the same way. RTV is good for corners..

It's the valve covers NOT the intake or valley.
