    Hi
Does a hood from a Ford 1955 fits on a car from 56. The car is a Ford Fairlane Town Sedan ?

If I am not mistaken, the 56 has a bit more of a pointed hood.. (55 Grille is a bit flatter,) and although they will function, it does leave a bit of a gap, but like Jeff suggested, check with the guys who have them

55 hood will bolt to the hinges, but it has a stainless trim piece on the front lip. You will have holes to fill there.

Will bolt right in place. Trim is different between years, 55 has the stainless around the mouth of the grille. 56 had this trim piece built into grille. Biggest difference is the hood ornament. 55 bolts to the hood, 56 is larger and has a large recess that it sits in. This is why people use 55 hoods when then nose and deck a 56.

I used a 55 hood on my 56 back in the 60's. both were plain jane models so no trim issues.
