Technical Noise in banjo rear end

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by wood remover, Aug 9, 2017.

  1. My banjo is making an intermetent noise , somthing rubbing every half revolution.
The rpu had a bent brake drum and thought maybe it was that.
Replaced both drums and shoes and the noise is still there.
I never had a banjo apart , but I am thi king it is a bearing. Is there a bearing on the end of the axle?
Can I just remove the bell , change the bearing and reasemble ?
    (God that types easy)
It is the p***enger side seems the noise is coming from .

The outside bearings are the only ones. Gary

  5. Must be coming from elsewhere in the banjo ?
Have to find a manual to see whats in there .
