After a number of 15 minuet fill ups and a clogged fuel filter, I decided to get medieval on the gas tank. Somebody had attempted to line the tank at one time, it had been cut open and lined/ rust sealed and was fine for the 7K that I have put on the car-until now. As they as, a picture is worth....Funny, the tank itself looks great, it is just the fuller neck. The fun never begins.
Not a rag. I believe that is what todays alcohol tainted Fuel does to tank seal. I've seen that before. The Wizzard
Yes have seen that before. Even with a properly cleaned tank using all the POR 15 products and it lifted off.
Never had a tank I thought I needed to use that stuff in and now I don't think I want to. I have enough trouble filling the tanks on my 77 dualie flatbed that someone shortened the filler necks on and I have to get in under the bed and gently fill them. What's the plan? New tank?
Last time I saw something like that, it was attaching itself to humans and controlling their minds. Don't touch it.
I will never understand why when building a new car or rebuilding one, you wouldn't just do a new tank. Tanks Inc. has new aluminized steel and stainless tanks for pretty much every car there is fully baffled with options for internal fuel pumps. They are very affordable and you won't have issues like you had. Sent from my XT1585 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Use deathanol for a while and when you change your gas filter open it up and you will fine a rust tint inside of it.
