Early 1949 Cadillac's had two bolt valve covers and in searching I have struck out. Does anyone know who makes these or has a pair for sale. The bolt holes are centered and 14" C/L . They bolt into the rocker shaft end caps. Thanks.
I never knew that and I thought I knew everything there was to know about the 331's. I Googled photos of early 331's an there they were but still I don't know when they changed to 4 bolt covers.
Yup and there's even some aftermarket cast covers for em for lots of $$$$$ if you ever come across them.
The two bolt valve covers were only used in the first 3 months of production. Also the red oil filter and wing nut type canister were also early production. But I think only the first month or two.
The other difference is they use a spring loaded plunger in the end of the cam, also only used for the first 3 or so months of production
