The Brookville '32 roadster doors don't come with a provision for the male dove-tail. The reproduction dove tails (Bob Drake) are built to mount to nut serts counter sunk into the door edge, as an original door has. The Brookville doors are flat at the mounting point. Since there is no access to the inside of the door, I can't see how a person would form these counter sunk areas to properly mount the male dove-tail. You can't just install a nut-sert because the body of the dove-tail will not be flush with the door edge surface. My question is: what have others done to install these things? Did a search on the Ford Barn and found that the '33-'36 roadster male dove tails are flat on the back and would work with a simple nut-sert, but apparently these are not reproduced any more.
I believe that there is backing material behind that area when I did mine. Drill, countersink for the head and tap to the correct size. The dovetails are very flat for the roadster.
