1952-59 Ford Anyone have a Y-block valve cover nut they can spare?

I was removing the valve covers to check my valve lash and I dropped one of the nuts by accident. I looked and looked on the drivers side where it fell, nothing. I checked the floor for a good radius around the car. It's like it disappeared without a trace. I've got a regular nut on it for now.
Is there anyone who could mail me one?

I can't help with the nut but like you, I dropped a 3/8" socket above the right side upper control arm. I searched every nook and cranny in the frame/suspension and all around on the floor. I still haven't found it. I hate it when I loose a tool from a matching set.

I was hoping to find it before I took it out on the road. I've been lucky to find lost tools on the road in front of my house that I'd lost under the hood of my various cars. A nut would be harder to find if it feel out.

Sometimes theyr so close, laughin at you... hate it also. Try using a magnet and "scan" everywhere.

I found vise grips, missing for quite a while, when changing the front tire. Seems they were clamped to the inner wheel well. ????? I think the tool gods put them there.

    PM sent. I van wait.

I'll keep you in mind if I lose another one.

I found a pair of my good pliers under the hood of my OT F150, They'd been there a while since they were quit rusty. Funny thing was that I hadn't missed them before that.

I use that term quite a bit. Problem with using a magnet in a car like ours is that most of the car is made of metal that attracts magnets. ;)
