My prayers to everyone also. I cant even begin to imagine wind speed that high. We had a storm a few years ago with 70+ mph straight line winds and that was bad enough.

My Mom, 94 years old, lives on the north side of Houston. I just got off the phone with her, so far so good. The area she lives in is maybe the highest ground in the area. We're just hoping the power stays on...

It's not so the much winds now,it's the constant rain, they are predicting Huston to get a total of 50 inches of rain,we have a lot of members in and around the Texas area's that have been hammered also.

Keep these people in your thoughts and prayers. HRP

My sister and family is in Katy. Appreciate the things you all have. They can be taken from you QUICKLY. Also, be smart and get coverage. I insure my tiny 1 car garage, tools, and car. Plan ahead! Good luck to everyone there and STAY SAFE.

How hard was Katy hit? My SIL's sister's family lives there and I haven't heard how they're doing. I believe they skipped town.

Parts of Katy received a lot of water, especially if near the atticks or barker reservoir. I'm in the heights which is basically downtown and although we are really close to the bayou we are on higher ground and didn't have any issues. (we were stranded in our neighborhood for a few days though as all p***ages out were under water).

They're close to water... in the Silver Ranch section. I'll see my SIL later tomorrow and get the scoop.
