    Hi guys,
I have a '37 chevy coupe and I would like to paint it in satin brown.
I would like to stay in traditional style.... brown paint, black steel wheels, black tires,...
Have you a good idea for me ?
    Thank you :)
    I've seen this truck....

Here are two rides painted with the same red base coat but the truck has had flattener added to the clear for the old paint look.

Cool, thank you ! I will use a flattener in my paint.
Do you know what type of brown this guy used for this shade?
It's not easy, there is a lot of brown.
I've seen on TCP but I found only two brown: Dakota and dark brow .

Please enlighten me: Exactly what is a flattener comprised of? (not the eco makeup, just the rudimentary 'family')

I once mixed some talcum powder to some shiny black paint to get that 'primer look'...back in 1957.
I trust we've come light years in 'flattening' since then.
    So...What is it???

Personally when I am doing flat paint I will mix in flattening agent with the clear for small parts, suspension etc. Problwm witb that is consistency.

If I am looking for consistency and reproducibility I will use Glasurit clear for lower body cladding and engine bays. Think mid 80s Mercedes Benz body cladding. Not sure of the #.
