I've been on this website for almost 10 years but have never written. In high school I had a 63 Bel-Air 4 door and traded it for a 62 Impala hard top which I drove my senior year. I always regretted selling it (for 2 grand!!!). I am in the Marine Corps and I used to drive a 49 Chevy Deluxe in 29 Palms.
I have always loved the ***y body of a 54 Bel-Air and I finally picked one up in N. Carolina. I haven't done any work to it yet but have started parts (I unintentionally started a car grill collection).
I like to get my hands dirty and will continue to get the knowledge i need from everyone on this site.

I'd love to keep the paint the way it is now but I have some metal work to do on the bottom, rockers, below the tail lights, etc. I want to make it look original but have subtle changes such as a 55 desoto grill and maybe packard tailights.
I picked up another frame and plan on making it handle like a newer car, IFS and updated rear with power steering and power brakes. And of course drop it in the process. I deploy a lot and the wife needs to be able to move it.
I always drive my cars so I plan on using it daily once it runs.
I appreciate the thank you for my service. I have been at it for 20 years. I will never get rich but I love it.
