You use what you have. I put a 455 Buick in a 58 Chevy panel truck because the 6 cylinder had a rod out and I got a good deal on a wrecked Riviera. Why not. Nice truck.
I would. I had a '62 dodge truck in high school, a guy needed the slant 6 out of it and I wanted more horsepower. I sold the 6 and put a Pontiac 400 motor in it. It surprised a lot of people and I had like a $100 in the motor and trans.
build/buy your ride to fit your needs/wants - dare to be different is good, sometimes - just do not be surprised that when you decide to sell that you do not get a lot of interest, or a high price for your efforts
Well let's see I would put a Cummins in a Toyota at least that's what everyone says. Olds on a Dodge? Nope I had a '46 Ford with a caddy, had a Cleveland Hamster in it for a while but I went back to the caddy. I have shoved olds motors in F-1s and Shoeboxes, and even stuffed a 440 in a Camaro. Had a first gen Effie that I stuffed a 6 cylinder American Motors in it for a while and have stuffed FEs and International V8s in American Motors cars. I have shoved an SBC in one of everything. About the only thing I have done is shove a Ford in a Chebby, you just got to draw the line somewhere. LOL Olds motor in a Dodge panel truck? Why not?
I would do it. Anything but a mopar. Olds division was known for good engines and innovation. They had turbo in 1961 with the Jetfire. .. then i would swap the frame and body while I'm at. Rid it from all it's dusty dodge history. Sent from my SM-J727T1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
