Trying to identify the cowl on this buggy I purchased. Every other component, including the 27 Phaeton rear welded to it, has been identified. I've looked at a LOT of pics with no success.

    Thanks so much!!

Looks like a 1927 Chevy phaeton that has been chopped shorter.

  4. You're right @LOWCAB, it appears to have been shortened a great deal. Definitely a touring car though.

I think it's 28 Chevy, '27 is close but doesn't have that little Z in the body line.

(EDIT looks like both years have that Z, only the open cars though.)

  9. That's a cute dune buggy!

I see that now after taking the seller's word as fact. Thanks!

It is, and it's been shortened considerably!

That may be why I didn't identify the cowl. Didn't realize the difference between open top and sedan.

Yank the flat tie and install a Chryco flat tie and then you will have a trifecta!

There's some of my dilemma. I have 3-1939 flathead transmissions, a flathead engine to 3-speed OD side shift bell housing, an inline 6 to flathead transmission AND a Y-block to flathead transmission bell housing.

In my collection are early (21 bolt), mid (59A-B), and late V8s (8BA, 8RT) as well as 3-255 Mercs (8CM).

I could do a time period correct build from 1939 to late 50s, I suppose.
