Trying to identify the cowl on this buggy I purchased. Every other component, including the 27 Phaeton rear welded to it, has been identified. I've looked at a LOT of pics with no success. Thanks so much!! ===== Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Looks like a 1927 Chevy phaeton that has been chopped shorter. Sent from my SM-J700T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
You're right @LOWCAB, it appears to have been shortened a great deal. Definitely a touring car though. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I think it's 28 Chevy, '27 is close but doesn't have that little Z in the body line. (EDIT looks like both years have that Z, only the open cars though.)
I went to the internet, looked at some pics, and you are absolutely right! Not sure how I missed that. Thanks! ===== Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I see that now after taking the seller's word as fact. Thanks! ===== Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
That may be why I didn't identify the cowl. Didn't realize the difference between open top and sedan. ===== Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thanks! Have some plans but not sure which direction I'm going. ===== Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
There's some of my dilemma. I have 3-1939 flathead transmissions, a flathead engine to 3-speed OD side shift bell housing, an inline 6 to flathead transmission AND a Y-block to flathead transmission bell housing. In my collection are early (21 bolt), mid (59A-B), and late V8s (8BA, 8RT) as well as 3-255 Mercs (8CM). I could do a time period correct build from 1939 to late 50s, I suppose. ===== Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
