I need some help on my buddys automatic transmission. He told me if he drives it for a short distance than there ain't any problems but when you keep drive it, she starts to leak and shift really rough. He though it might be overheating and tried to get a trans cooler but he couldnt really find anything. What could be the reason for overheating? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
What's wrong with this: http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stor...atalogId=10002&storeId=10001&categoryId=18305 The current cooler may be plugged. The line pressure may also be too high. The adjustments need to be done right on the old hydros. I don't know know much about them myself.
we have a "search" function here,if you look up some of my old posts i describe the adjustments for hydra-matics. it is VERY VERY VERY important to adjust the bands AND the kickdown linkage!!! if you need service manual stuff i can scan some and send it to you. BTW there is no way to install a cooler on these, unless you have a commercial car (hearse or ambulance) which sometimes had a cooler installed. very rare.
